Cookie Policy
How PasteGrab uses cookies and browser storage, and how to manage your preferences. Effective 2026-06-22.
This Cookie Policy explains how PasteGrab uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit pastegrab.com. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy. The data controller is [YOUR_COMPANY_OR_OPERATOR_NAME], [YOUR_REGISTERED_ADDRESS].
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. We also use comparable technologies such as localStorage and sessionStorage for preferences and short-lived caches. Cookies can be first-party (set by PasteGrab) or third-party (set by another domain, such as an analytics provider).
How we use consent
When you first visit PasteGrab, a banner asks you to Accept all cookies or limit use to Necessary only. Your choice is stored so we do not ask on every visit. You can reopen preferences using in the site footer.
Strictly necessary cookies
These are required to operate the service. They do not require optional consent under EU ePrivacy rules.
- pastegrab_session — HTTP cookie that keeps you signed in after login. Attributes: HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax, Path=/, Secure on HTTPS. Duration: up to seven days of inactivity or until logout.
- pastegrab_consent — first-party cookie storing your cookie banner decision (JSON). Duration: up to twelve months.
Functional storage (not cookies)
These technologies support core UX and are active regardless of analytics consent:
- pastegrab:resolve-cache (sessionStorage) — caches analyze results during your browser session so format changes do not repeat metadata requests.
- pastegrab:cookie-consent (localStorage) — mirror of your consent record for client-side reads.
- theme (localStorage) — stores light or dark mode preference via next-themes.
- pastegrab:recent (localStorage) — optional recent job references in supported UI flows.
Analytics cookies (optional)
When our deployment has NEXT_PUBLIC_GA_MEASUREMENT_ID configured, PasteGrab may load Google Analytics 4 only after you choose Accept all. We use Google Consent Mode v2: analytics storage remains denied until consent is granted. Analytics may set or read cookies from domains such as googletagmanager.com and google-analytics.com. If you choose Necessary only, these scripts do not run with analytics storage granted.
Marketing cookies
PasteGrab does not currently load advertising or remarketing pixels. If we introduce marketing tags in the future, they will run only after you accept optional marketing cookies in the banner, and this policy will be updated.
Your choices
- Accept all — allows optional analytics (and future marketing cookies if introduced).
- Necessary only — limits us to strictly necessary cookies and functional storage listed above.
- Change later — use or clear site data in your browser settings.
Browser controls
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent sign-in from working. Refer to your browser's help documentation for cookie management instructions.
