What the link preview tool does
The video link preview tool resolves public URLs the same way PasteGrab's downloader does — using yt-dlp on our servers — but stops at metadata. You see the title, thumbnail, duration, and host before you commit to a download job. That is useful when you are vetting UGC submissions, checking whether a link is public, or confirming you grabbed the right post from a long thread.
Supported hosts
Preview works on the same public hosts as our downloaders: TikTok, Instagram, Vimeo, X, Facebook, Reddit, Twitch, SoundCloud, and dozens more. If a URL fails preview, it will likely fail download — open it in an incognito window first. Private, login-only, and DRM-protected pages are not supported.
When to preview vs download
Use preview for quick validation. When metadata looks correct, open the homepage downloader or a platform page such as TikTok, Instagram, or Vimeo to queue MP4 or MP3 output. See our public link guide and how it works page for the full workflow.
