Understand video resolution — 720p, 1080p, 4K, and vertical formats — and how to pick the right PasteGrab preset.
Overview
Video resolution is the pixel dimensions of each frame — for example 1280×720 (720p) or 1920×1080 (1080p). More pixels can mean sharper image, but only if the source actually contains that detail.
Social platforms often re-encode uploads. Downloading a 1080p-labeled Reel does not guarantee 1080p of original camera detail — you get what the public CDN serves today.
PasteGrab's 720p preset targets a smaller output; Best quality preserves the highest streams yt-dlp finds.

How it works
Editing, archival, audio reference, or quick share — each goal favors different formats and quality levels.
Social clips often work in MP4; audio-only workflows favor MP3. See our format comparison guides for tradeoffs.
Select Best quality for masters, 720p for smaller files, or MP3 when you only need audio — before you preview the link.
Check resolution, bitrate, and audio tracks in your player or NLE before committing to a workflow.
Benefits
480p (SD), 720p (HD), 1080p (Full HD), 1440p, 4K (UHD). Vertical video swaps width and height — 1080×1920 for 9:16 Reels.
High resolution with low bitrate can look worse than 720p with adequate bitrate. Both numbers matter.
Match preset to end use: 720p for references, Best quality for masters, Smallest file for quick reviews.
